Why Uploading Documents Isn't the Whole Story

Unlike a purely digital application, a Voter ID registration is verified in person: after you submit Form 6 online, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) visits to confirm your address before your EPIC card is approved. Getting your documents technically correct is step one — being available and accurate when the BLO visits matters just as much.

Common Mistakes

• Address proof that doesn't match your claimed address exactly: Even a missing flat number or a differently formatted PIN code can slow down BLO verification.
• Old or blurry photographs: A recent, clear photo with a plain background avoids back-and-forth.
• Applying at your old address after moving: If you've relocated, you generally need to apply fresh at your new address, not just update the old entry.

• Track your application status online: The ECI portal lets you check your Form 6 status using your reference number — no need to wait for a physical letter.
• Be reachable for the BLO visit: Applications commonly stall simply because no one was available to confirm the address in person.
